Wandering in the Woods
This abstract landscape is on a gessoed panel measuring 298 mm by 298mm.
The cobalt blue bleeding into turquoise contrasts beautifully with the copper leaf trees.
Delicate copper mark making invites the viewer to explore the subtleties of the painting.
It was created using a layering process which gives the artwork a visual depth as well as an element of mystery. By using multiple layers of paint each sealed with medium a rich experience is created for the viewer. Light travels through each thin layer and then bounces back, rather like light shining through a stained glass window. The colour assumes a richness created by the thin, glossy surface that seals each layer of paint
The benefits of forest bathing are now well known. Time spent in the forest boost our immune system and reduce feelings of anger, anxiety and depression
As with art making, spending time in nature is meditative. It’s being present with all our senses.
I hope this painting brings you to a place of tranquillity and peace.
The painting is cradled in a white bespoke frame 322 mm by 322mm.
