Sea spray

This artwork is on a gessoed panel measuring 298 mm by 298mm.
 
This is one of a collection of paintings inspired by my enduring love of the sea.
 
The aerial perspective transforms the viewer to a bird's-eye view, swooping over the waves. Fresh, vibrant and kinetic, these paintings bring a crisp sea breeze into any room.
 
I start by mapping out the colours with acrylic paint so that golden sands give way to shallow turquoise waters which in turn drift into the marine blue of the ocean deep.
 
Then the feeling of fluidity and movement is created through pouring multiple layers of tinted resin which has a marble like quality and gives the artwork an extraordinary sense of depth.
 
The painting is cradled in a white bespoke frame 322 mm by 322mm.
