The playful, delicate orange mark-making on the trees give the painting a visual as well as actual texture. It is as if light is reflecting on the trees which is also reminiscent of the energy they give out. 
 
Nature is often where we retreat to in order to find restoration and peace, nature is the original muse.  The benefits of forest bathing are now well known. Time spent in the forest boost our immune system and reduce feelings of anger, anxiety and depression.
 
Principles of colour harmony are derived from nature. Just look to nature to find colours that feel restorative, colours we want to surround ourselves with.
 
As with art making, spending time in nature is meditative. It’s being present with all our senses.
